Restoring purchases

If you have already bought Tappia Plus — for example after reinstalling the app or setting up a new iPhone — you can restore it:

  1. Open Tappia and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Restore purchases.
  3. Sign in with your Apple Account if prompted.

Restore Purchases asks the App Store to restore eligible purchases associated with the same Apple Account that made the original purchase. If you are signed in with a different Apple Account, the purchase will not be found — check which account is signed in under the Apple Account section of the iOS Settings app.

Purchases cannot be moved between different Apple Accounts. If a family member bought it, Apple's Family Sharing settings determine whether it can be shared.

Audio and spoken guidance

If you cannot hear the guidance:

Spoken guidance is played from audio stored inside the app, so it works without an internet connection. If a particular recording is unavailable, iOS may generate that line on-device instead, which can sound different from the recorded voice.

A session's timing does not depend on the narration: if audio is off or silent, the session still moves through its phrases normally.

Reinstalling the app

Reinstalling can resolve problems that survive a restart. Before you do it, please read this carefully:

Deleting the app may remove locally stored progress and settings. Tappia stores your session history, check-in ratings, notes, streak, program progress and preferences on your device. Deleting the app removes that local data, and it cannot be recovered by the developer — there is no server copy.

Deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription. To stop being billed, cancel in your Apple Account subscription settings (see below).

To reinstall:

  1. Delete Tappia from your Home Screen or App Library.
  2. Restart your iPhone.
  3. Reinstall Tappia from the App Store.
  4. Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases to bring back your Tappia Plus access.

Your purchase is tied to your Apple Account, so it survives the reinstall even though your local practice history does not.

Subscriptions and billing

Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account / App Store subscription settings, not inside Tappia. To view, change or cancel a subscription:

  1. Open the iOS Settings app.
  2. Tap your name at the top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Select Tappia to change the plan or cancel it.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. If you are on the annual plan's 7-day free trial, cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged — trial eligibility is determined by Apple.

Billing and refund requests are handled by Apple. Charges, receipts and refunds go through Apple's own process — the developer cannot cancel an Apple subscription for you or issue an Apple refund. To request a refund, use Apple's "Report a Problem" process for App Store purchases, or contact Apple Support.

If Tappia Plus content is still locked after a successful purchase, first try Restore purchases in Tappia's Settings, then confirm you are signed in with the Apple Account that made the purchase. If it is still wrong, email the details and we will help you work out what happened.

Using Tappia safely

Tappia is a wellness app, not therapy, medical care, or a crisis service. If a session feels uncomfortable, you can pause, skip or stop at any time.

If you are in immediate danger, or in crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line in your country rather than using the app. The app's Crisis Resources screen also lists options.
